03-24-99 - "Fame" - Irene Cara

Apocalyptic weather was imminent. I was on a city street, more like a city square and the wind was beginning to blow steadily. I was with a large group of people, most of whom were running around madly in a panic. I was attempting to get away from the buildings and towards the park-like setting of the square because I figured tree limbs falling on me would hurt less than buildings falling on me. There were large pieces of the sky that were falling, and it looked like blue sheetrock coming out of a wall. I chuckled to the girl I was walking next to (that I was supposedly friends with, although I have no clue who she was)about our coming fate. I began singing the song "Fame" (mockingly), singing "I'm not going to live much longer, I'm going to learn how to die..." and the crowd near me all began to sing in unison and dance around: "remember...remember...remember...". I figured that they all thought this was their last chance to live it up, so they were taking advantage of it despite their impending doom.

Then I was trying to get out of a downpour and into a building that was kind of like a school gymnasium. Again, there were lots of people everywhere, trying to get in from the rain. There was a definite sense of desperation in all of the people around me. It was almost movie-of-the-week-ish, where you see all these homeless people scattered on cots in a school gym. Then the storm was over and I was trying to find a bathroom. I went into another building that was like a small school dining room with a locker room on the opposite side. I looked around with a flashlight only to find the locker room had no bathroom, only lockers. As I walked over towards the dining area, I saw a light switch, and tried it, and the lights came on. People that were wandering the dining room with flashlights turned and looked at me like, "Oh! There's power! We didn't think to check the light switch!" I went back outside and I noticed that a lot of the people milling around were people I knew in high school. I noticed a girl that was pregnant was being escorted by another girl who was helping her walk carefully over rugged terrain. Then I was going to my parent's house, (which was just a stone's throw away) and lots of these other people were planning to come there to stay for the night. I walked through the house and noticed several wet and muddy places on the walls and the carpet where frantic people had run amok through the house after being in the rain. No one was there, even my parents were gone. There was still an apocalyptic feeling in the air, as if we were all going to be living out our last days at my parent's house, not knowing what to expect from one moment to the next. There was a lot more to the dream, but mostly there was a lot of worry, dread and panic among the people everywhere I was.

**Remember: This is ONLY a DREAM!!**
